LED’s are significantly better for the environment. The world has major problems with overuse of electricity, and disposal of dangerous by products from traditional lighting. LEDs use vastly less power to produce light, and have a much safer manufacturing process. This is helping the world reduce its overall consumption of resouces, as lighting generates a lot of emissions.

Every year, LED lighting gets more efficient and cheaper to produce. Most countries are phasing out incandescent systems over time, and the number one replacement for environmental reasons is LED. While still marginally more expensive to install, the units recoup their costs many times over through huge increases in longevity. Moreover, over long periods, the difference in energy consumption is very dramatic, especially given todays rising prices.
